FOUR WAYS TO SOUND LIKE YOU

Choose your octapad sound.

These web kits use synthesized percussion, with World percussion loaded by default. The Stage effect adds hall reverb and a short delay, the treatment live Indian percussion players usually put on their pads; choose Dry in the Effects menu to hear the raw sounds.

A few answers.
Then back to the beat.

What is an online octapad?

An online octapad is a virtual percussion instrument with eight playable pads. Each pad triggers a drum sound, so you can practice rhythms and make beats using a touchscreen, mouse or computer keyboard.

Can I play mobile octapad without downloading an app?

Yes. All the web drum kits, the step sequencer, metronome and session recording are free. You do not need an account. TAAL is a separate Android app and includes in-app purchases.

Why can’t I hear any sound?

Tap a pad first to enable browser audio. Check the volume here and on your device, and make sure the browser tab is not muted. Wired headphones or your device speaker usually have less delay than Bluetooth.

Can I play octapad on Android, iPhone or PC?

Yes. Use the browser player on Android, iPhone, Windows or Mac with a browser that supports Web Audio. The pads support multi-touch. Turn your phone sideways for more room. Recording availability and the downloaded audio format depend on your browser.

Where can I download an octapad app for Android?

Explore TAAL and download it from Google Play. This web instrument offers synthesized drums and a one-bar sequencer. TAAL for Android adds sound importing, sample editing, up to 16 pads, per-pad effects, song arrangement and WAV export. Web patterns do not automatically transfer to TAAL.

Are my recordings uploaded?

No. Audio is generated and recorded on your device. Recordings remain in memory until you download them or leave the page. Saved patterns and preferences use your browser’s local storage. This site does not request microphone access.
