How to download
the octapad app.
Tap Download to open TAAL’s Google Play listing and check that the developer is Beat Squad. Choose Install; Google Play handles the download and updates. Then open TAAL, pick the Classic 8 layout, load the Indian tabla kit or import your own sounds, and play.

The button opens TAAL’s official Google Play listing. Octapad.net does not host APK files, modified apps or hardware patches. “Octapad” is used on this site as the common name for an eight-pad electronic percussion instrument; TAAL is a drum pad app by Beat Squad.
Is TAAL a Roland SPD-20 Pro or SPD-30 app?
No. TAAL is not made by or affiliated with Roland, and it does not load Roland kits or patches. If you play an SPD-20 Pro or SPD-30 on stage, TAAL gives you an eight-pad layout, your own samples and low-latency pads on your phone for practice and small gigs.
Does TAAL have tabla, dholak or cumbia sounds?
TAAL bundles a full Indian tabla kit alongside seven drum kits. For dholak, dhol, timbal or güira sounds, import your own samples or record them with the microphone, then assign them to pads. Check the Google Play listing for the current kit list.
Can I use the octapad on iPhone or a computer?
Use the free browser octapad on compatible phones and computers. The TAAL download is for Android.
Do my web patterns and recordings move into TAAL?
No automatic transfer is available. Download the web recording to keep it. TAAL can import audio files; check its supported formats first, because the web recording format depends on your browser.
Octapad or octopad?
Both spellings are common in search. This site uses octapad, the name most players use for eight-pad instruments.
